The Numark PT01 portable turntable is an ideal unit for DJs on the go. Measuring a mere 12 by 12 inches, the turntable comes with a full array of features yet stores conveniently inside the average record crate for simple and efficient transport. The size, however, is just window dressing compared to the unit’s DJ functions. The PT01’s belt-driven motor operates at speeds of 33-1/3, 45, and 78 rpm, giving users access to everything from modern LPs to classic singles to old-school jazz and blues discs. DJs will also appreciate the +/- 10 percent pitch control, along with the tone and volume controls. And monitoring is simple thanks to the built-in phono preamp, accompanying speaker, and dual 1/4- and 1/8-inch headphone jacks.

Other features include a durable auto-start and -stop tonearm, a high-quality felt slipmat for scratching, an integrated carrying handle, and a removable dustcover with a locking slide latch. Connectivity is enhanced by the RCA line-level outputs for hooking up to a DJ mixer, tape recorder, CD burner, PA system, or home stereo. The level of the stereo output signal is controlled by the turntable’s audio level control. Perhaps the most convenient feature for mobile DJs, however, is the power source, which offers the choice between a traditional AC power adapter or six D-size batteries (not included). Thanks to the battery-powered option, DJs can take their act anywhere and not be beholden to nearby outlets.

The PT01 turntable comes with a built-in cartridge with a removable stylus, along with a 45 rpm adapter. And as with all Numark turntables, it carries a two-year warranty.
